Smoking Is Always A Problem

When it comes to public health initiatives there is one area that has been covered more than most. That area is smoking which remains a problem in the UK. It is now known to be a cause of cancer making it a serious health problem. There have been a number of initiatives and there will continue to be for a number of reasons.
Tobacco is highly addictive and when you combine it with the habit of smoking at particular times and the associations you get such as smoking when drinking you have an addiction that is incredibly hard to overcome. With the vast majority of smokers wishing they were not it only goes to show the addictive nature of nicotine. The addictiveness is why so many public health initiatives have been created.
With public health initiatives not working the government took a further step banning smoking in doors in public places in an attempt to help. It was hoped people would not like going outside and give up smoking while allowing people to eat and drink in smoke free pubs and clubs removing passive smoking as a killer which it is now known to be .While smoking levels have dropped it will take a few more public health initiatives before smoking is eradicated in the UK.
